Privacy policy
Data used on your device
To provide the widget, RSS Widget stores feed URLs and names, widget and per-feed preferences, downloaded article information, and cached images locally on your device. The app does not upload those subscriptions, settings or cached articles to an Evolved Apps server for synchronisation or storage. Android backup of the app's data is disabled.
You can remove feeds and widgets or clear the app's local data in Android settings. Exported OPML files remain wherever you choose to save them, until you delete those copies yourself.
Connections to publishers
The app requests feeds and associated images directly from the addresses you configure. Publishers and image hosts can receive the requested URL, your public IP address and ordinary connection information. They may process those requests under their own privacy policies; they are not Evolved Apps support or analytics services. Some feeds use unencrypted HTTP rather than HTTPS.
Opening an article sends you to its website using your browser or another suitable application. Those destinations may have their own privacy practices.
OPML import and export
Importing OPML provides the app with subscriptions and any compatible settings. Exporting creates a file with feed details and configuration that you choose where to save or share. OPML files are not automatically sent to Evolved Apps. Check exported files before sharing: private feed URLs may contain access tokens or other identifying details.
Analytics, advertising and purchases
RSS Widget does not include an Evolved Apps analytics service or third-party advertising SDK, does not display ads and does not create user profiles for marketing. Evolved Apps does not send marketing emails to app users or support correspondents.
Google Play and Android separately process purchase, installation and diagnostic information under their applicable terms and privacy notices. Evolved Apps may receive purchase or aggregate sales information through Play Console but does not link this with your locally stored feeds or reading activity.
Support correspondence: purpose and legal basis
If you contact us, we receive the email address you use, your message and any attachments you choose to send. You may use an alias; your real name is not needed. A working reply address is needed if you want a response. We use the correspondence to answer questions, investigate issues and follow up on that enquiry, not to build a contact database.
For general enquiries, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding and supporting the application (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). When handling a request relating to a purchase, processing may be necessary for performance of the relevant contract (Article 6(1)(b)). Records required by law may be processed to meet a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)). Our legitimate interest is limited to handling enquiries and maintaining support, not marketing.
Email delivery and storage involve our mail host and, where configured, a forwarding provider. Your own mail provider and intervening systems also handle the message. We do not intentionally publish support correspondence. If relevant providers process data outside the European Economic Area, applicable transfer arrangements and safeguards must be considered; contact us for information about the providers used for your correspondence.
Website access and security
This page uses no advertising, analytics, external fonts, third-party scripts or tracking cookies. It contains only a small local script that makes the support address clickable. The website host may log IP addresses, timestamps and requested pages to serve the site, maintain availability and investigate abuse. Where we control this processing, our legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site (Article 6(1)(f)). The host may retain operational logs and backups according to its applicable retention schedule.
Security
RSS Widget stores its data in Android application storage, which is subject to Android's app-access controls. HTTPS encrypts connections to publishers that support it; some third-party feed URLs use unencrypted HTTP. Our website and email hosts apply their own access and security controls. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Retention and deletion
Local feed information and settings remain on your device until you remove them or clear the app's storage. Article entries may be replaced during feed refresh; cached images can persist until cache cleanup or app-data deletion.
We keep routine support correspondence while an enquiry is open and for up to 30 days after the last exchange for reasonable follow-up. We delete it thereafter, except where further retention is required by law or for establishing, exercising or defending legal claims. We do not maintain a permanent list of correspondents. Email providers may independently retain limited backups or delivery logs under their service policies.
For hosting logs, retention is determined by operational and security requirements and the hosting provider's retention arrangements; contact us if you need details of the arrangements that apply.
Your rights
Where the GDPR applies, you may have rights to access, rectify or erase personal data we hold, restrict or object to processing, and receive data in a portable format where the legal conditions apply. You may object in particular to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact support [at] evolved-apps [dot] com to make a request. We may ask for the minimum information needed to establish that a request concerns your own correspondence.
You may lodge a complaint with a competent EU data-protection supervisory authority. We do not use support correspondence for automated decision-making or profiling.
Changes
We may update this policy if our data practices change. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do.
Third-party content and external links
RSS Widget displays articles, images and other material supplied by independent RSS publishers chosen by the user. Such content is provided by those publishers, not created, independently verified or endorsed by Evolved Apps.
Third-party content is displayed as received, subject to the app's normal parsing, formatting and caching. Evolved Apps does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, suitability or continued availability of any publisher's feed or content. Articles or images may remain visible in a local cache after a publisher has changed or removed the original.
External links open in your browser or another suitable application. The destination sites are responsible for their own content, terms and privacy practices. Intellectual-property rights in third-party material remain with their respective owners; its display in RSS Widget does not transfer those rights.
These statements relate to material supplied by independent publishers. They do not exclude Evolved Apps' responsibilities for the application itself or limit any statutory consumer rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
